Mel Kay

Mel Kay and her band Liberté landed on the music scene last year and have since come to the attention of an A&R department in Sydney and a New York label and management firm, being played around the globe on various stations. With a mix of funk, pop, and indie music the band likes to describe their sound as a mix of Lorde, The Browhorn Orchestra, Kate Miller Heidke and Jarryd James.

Mel released her first single in 2014 with commercial airplay and voted top ballad on CD baby, and studied music performance for four years at WAAPA. This year she & Liberte played for over 600 people at the Perth Convention Centre for the heads of Google, Facebook, and Instagram. Mel is passionate in her music reaching those who feel alone and in being a voice for the voiceless. 

Personality Disorder Catalyst

Catch Mel Kay is performing her band Liberte at the Ellington Jazz Club on 5 September at 7.30pm. The Perth 10-piece band will be launching their next single "Let it Burn" and showcasing never before performed material with the show, with the aim of gauging which songs the audience would like to see appear on their upcoming E.P Personality Disorder Catalyst.
