Most people who deal with the general public will on an occasion face a difficult or potentially dangerous situation. How we respond to a potential crisis can make the difference between smooth resolution and an emergency situation.
Content covered includes:
- Establish rapport
- Recognise danger
- Empathetic communication
- Preventative techniques
- Identify and assess behaviours
- Relevance of mental health + other conditions
- Manage emotions and instinct
- Verbal and nonverbal defusing techniques
- Ensure personal safety.
There are two scholarship places available for consumers or carers who face financial difficulty in attending this course. Scholarship applications close 10 business days prior to course and the successful applicants will be notified five business days prior to commencement of the event.
