    Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Awareness Week 2019

    Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Awareness (PANDA) Week was established by PANDA in 2005 to increase awareness and reduce stigma. Since then PANDA has been using the Week to speak out about supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of expecting and new parents, including the signs to look for and where to go to seek support.

    People experiencing chronic mental health challenges are more likely to have histories of trauma including childhood abuse, accidents, homelessness, violence and substance misuse.  The six principles of trauma informed care underpin the support required for a person with a lived experience of trauma to achieve their recovery goals.
