Wild Butterfly is an internationally acclaimed dramatised Australian documentary that showcases the untold of Perth's Claire Murray and her family. It explores the trauma of childhood sexual violence and its relationship to ongoing mental health issues and drug use. It uncovers the hidden story behind a family’s tragic circumstances and opens or eyes to the impacts of social injustices and prejudices that could befall anyone.

This screening is part of the Wild Butterfly Impact Campaign which tackles the stigmatisation of people affected by drug use by raising awareness of the links between trauma, mental health, and drug use. The film is a powerful case study to understand trauma informed practice across the Health, Education, Justice, and Journalism sectors.

Wild Butterfly was the winner of the Media category at the 2021 WA Mental Health Awards
