  • The biennial WA Mental Health Conference returns this year, on August 18-19.
  • The theme is Towards wellbeing: Taking control in the face of change.
  • Registrations and abstract submissions are currently open.

In the face of societal change and rising uncertainty, what impact does our perception of control and our sense of optimism have on wellbeing? And how can we respond to challenges when our ability to have control over things in our life is limited?

These are the questions that WA’s premier event in mental health will explore, across two thought-provoking days this August.

This year, the biennial WA Mental Health Conference will unpack the role that our locus of control and our sense of optimism and resilience, can play in sustaining mentally healthy people, communities and systems – with sessions covering both personal and professional contexts from infancy through ageing.

As always, lived experience expertise and real-world examples will underpin the event, all set against the backdrop of the current mental health policy landscape and ecosystem.

With keynote speeches from award-winning presenters including Dr Rebecca Huntley, Georgie Harman and Lucy Bloom, this event is for anyone interested in improving their wellbeing or supporting others in their mental health journeys.

Registrations are now open with early bird discounts available.

Abstract submissions are also open until 5pm on Monday 30 March, with streams covering individuals and families; workers and carers; organisations; and policies and systems.
