National MH Review - Terms of Reference released
Minister for Health Peter Dutton has unveiled the Terms of Reference for the review of mental health services and programmes.
The review being undertaken by the National Mental Health Commission will engage with state and territory governments and other stakeholders, in the hope to deliver mental health services and programmes more efficiently.
All existing programmes across the government, non-government and private sectors will be reviewed.
Dutton said there was a need to know what really worked and ensure that existing resources in the mental health sector were being targeted as effectively as possible.
The Department for Health said the review should identify gaps in service delivery, inefficiency, duplication and excessive red tape.
