Good friend of WAAMH to move on

THE premier has announced the state’s first ever Mental Health Commissioner Eddie Bartnik will step down from his role on February 17 and be replaced by Tim Marney.

We would like to thank Eddie for his unwavering support to mental health in general, the WA Association for Mental Health and to the sector, and wish him all the best as he embarks on his new venture next month.

Tim has served on the board of beyondblue since 2008 and has been deputy chair of the board for the past three years. Alongside his in-depth understanding of government and reform, Tim has also been a vocal advocate of mental health issues, speaking openly about his own experience with depression and anxiety.

We are looking forward to continuing a strong and positive relationship with Tim in the Commissioners role.
