CMHA submission - National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Costs - Productivity Commission Position Paper

As well as the need to ensure supports are available for people who are not eligible for the scheme, a recent Community Mental health Australia (CMHA) submission calls for planning processes that understand and are responsive to psychosocial disability, the need to achieve good outcomes for people and the importance of  Governments not withdrawing services until the interface between the disability and other systems such as health are ironed out.
Challenges with market and provider readiness are identified, as is the need of consumers and carers for help to enable them to make the most of the NDIS.
