10 year plan takes shape
Stage one of the WA mental health services planning process is coming to conclusion with a report to be taken to the Minister for Mental Health before Christmas.
The first stage focussed on applying the methodology of the National Mental Health Services Planning Framework to WA’s mental health service system covered promotion and prevention, bed-based services, community clinical Services, community support and alcohol and other drugs.
Alongside consumers and families, the Community Support Consultative Committee have designed a framework document titled, How a Common Understanding of Recovery could shape the Future WA Mental Health System and also developed, Community Support Models: The Western Australian Mental Health Services Plan; both of which will be available on our website soon.
Stage two of the 10 year planning process will begin in the New Year with detailed work on models of service. We will keep members posted as it progresses.
