WORK has begun to develop a blueprint for the delivery of mental health services in WA for the next decade.
The plan is part of the WA governments response to the Stokes Review into referral, discharge and transfer practices in mental health. The plan will draw on the methodology of theNational Mental Health Services Planning Framework and within the directions set by the Mental Health 2020 Strategy.
Five consultation groups have been established covering Promotion and Prevention, Bed-based Services, Community Clinical Services, Community Support and Alcohol and Other Drugs as well as a Consumer & Carer Reference group. The target date to complete the first stage of the plan is 17th December 2013.
