Mental Health Advocacy Service (MHAS)

An independent inspection and advocacy body, set up under legislation to ensure involuntary patients (including people on CTOs) and psychiatric hostel residents know their rights, and their rights are observed. Council also takes complaints (which may be from families and guardians), assists people with MHRB and SAT hearings, and inspects facilities to ensure they are safe and suitable.
