This course will introduce new workers to the community mental health sector and explore how the sector has evolved, how the consumer voice is emerging and how recovery, trauma-informed and person-centred practice have developed.
FREE Workshop for Full Member organisations only
Target Audience: For frontline workers who are new to the community mental health sector.
The community mental health sector is a well-established, multifaceted and vibrant sector. In addition to introducing new workers to the sector, this course will provide an understanding of how the sector evolved, as well as the growing emergence of the consumer voice in service design and delivery and the development of the concepts of recovery and person-centred practice. It explains funding structures for the sector, including the impact of the NDIS reforms on mental health services, and it provides an overview of where the community sector ‘fits’ in the broader landscape of mental health services.
Register your interest by - 2 March 2020. Please note the course places will be shared across organisations.
The successful applicants to be advised one week prior to the commencement of the course. It is important to note, places are limited. Only applicants who can genuinely confirm they will be available to attend this free workshop are encouraged to submit an expression of interest for consideration.
