    This invitation-only event is a unique opportunity to explore innovative programs in suicide prevention ‘Alternatives to Suicide’, hear the latest news about the ‘Lived Experience Network’ and contribute to the development of the 10-year blueprint for suicide prevention in Australia.  Places are limited to 35—so book in early!

    By attending you will hear first hand from Lisa Forestell and Caroline White of the Western Massachusetts Recovery Learning Community about the evolution and implementation of the ‘Alternatives to Suicide’ program.  This program is based on the belief that human relationships are at the centre of what heals people who have experienced extreme emotional states, trauma, mental health diagnoses and a variety of other challenges in life.  You will have the opportunity to consider the benefits and challenges of adopting and supporting this innovative work in your community.  Lisa and Caroline have been brought to Western Australia by the support and arrangement of MercyCare.

    Following this will be discussions with Suicide Prevention Australia about the development of the SPA Lived Experience Network’ and the value of engaging people with a lived experience of suicide in the development and evaluation of programs, services and research.

    Having heard about innovative programs, discussed their relevance, impact and evidence-base, you will then have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the 10-year blueprint for suicide prevention in Australia by participating in SPA’s Community Consultation process.  By registering for this event you will receive pre-consultation materials from SPA and have your say directly to Suicide Prevention Australia.
