Co-Design Training 16 & 17 March 2017
Workshop, Training Course, WAAMH Event
FULLY BOOKED! Register your place for April, May or June. DON'T MISS OUT!
Held across two days, this course will assist participants to understand and implement co-design. Looking beyond surface change, co-design identifies some of the partnership and collaborative practices that have the potential to transform the way in which mental health services are delivered.
Using co-design methods has the potential to transform consumer, carer, family members and services participation into an integral driver for change. For co-design to be embedded more broadly across service providers, capability needs to be continually built and shared between them.
Not just using services, but moving towards partners who will work together and co-design supports, while delivering this design flexibly and in a way that evolves over time. This training provides an opportunity for everyone to discuss approaches, generate ideas and capture the experiences of WA's mental health landscape.
By introducing the principles and practices of co-design to help individuals and organisations adopt a better and more inclusive service. It is relevant to anyone who is interested in improving mental health outcomes for all stakeholders.
Content covered includes how to:
- Understand the nature and benefits of co-design;
- Establish conducive relationships with stakeholders;
- Develop the requisite skills for collaborative design;
- Explore specific models and practical take-home tools for use in the work-place;
- Review relevant case- studies and share resources and ideas;
- Evaluate and improve existing approaches.
The training will be facilitated by Margaret Doherty, professional trainer and family leader in the mental health area.
