    Training Course

    Self-harm or self-injury can be the most worrying and confusing behaviour and is often more challenging because it is usually done in secret.  Especially prevalent in young people, self-harm is often a coping mechanism for dealing with difficult past or present experiences.

    This course is suitable for health professionals, support workers, educators, youth workers, carers or anyone wanting to develop a greater understanding of the issues involved.

    • What is self-harm?
    • Facts surrounding self-harm
    • Links to mental health
    • Why people self-harm
    • Identification and warning signs
    • Responding to self-harm
    • Supporting parents
    • Treatment and support.

    Scholarships:

    There are two scholarship places available for consumers or carers who face financial difficulty in attending this course. Scholarship applications close 10 business days prior to a course and the successful applicants will be notified five business days prior to commencement of the event.
