A special introductory rate for the a fully interactive (online) MHFA course. In this accredited training program designed by Mental Health First Aid Australia, participants will learn strategies to support someone experiencing mental health challenges, or a crisis situation.
Mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use will be explored, as well as crisis situations, that may include suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury (self-harm), panic attacks, traumatic events and escalated behaviours.
The training has two components
Component 1: Participant completes self-paced online learning modules (6 hours).
Component 2: Sessions lead in a face-to-face with Emma Boyne on Monday 13 July and Monday 20 July 2020 online using the Zoom platform.
These fully interactive online sessions will be facilitated by a skilled MHFA practitioner, Emma Boyne over two, 3 hours sessions via the interactive Zoom platform. Participants will need to complete online learning component - prior to commencing the interactive sessions with the trainer. On completion of the training participants receive a certificate from MHFA Australia and are accredited in Mental Health First Aid, valid for 3 years. Places will be limited to 12 people.

There will be one scholarship place available for consumers or carers who would face financial difficulty in attending this course. Scholarship applications close 10 business days prior to course and the successful applicant will be notified five business days prior to commencement of the event.
