Participants will learn from this course how to establish and build safe and person-centered relationships that are strengths-focused. Participants will also learn practical strategies to support their clients with their recovery goals.
Target Audience: Suitable for staff working across a variety of services, where working with clients includes helping them create recovery plans.
Supporting clients to create recovery plans is an essential element of the recovery approach. Recovery plans are unique to each individual and the worker’s role is to support the individual to identify their goals and craft a plan that empowers the individual to achieve those goals.
This course will support participants to:
- Understand the relevance of language, trauma informed approaches and recovery principles to recovery planning
- Understand the concept of the ‘recovery alliance’ and how it applies to recovery planning
- Have increased confidence in how to use recovery planning to support a person to identify goals that align with SMART principles
- Be able to use recovery planning tools in a collaborative, person-centred way that ensures that individuals are fully involved the recovery planning process.
There are two scholarship places available for consumers or carers who face financial difficulty in attending this course. Scholarship applications close 10 business days prior to course and the successful applicants will be notified five business days prior to commencement of the event.
